Today, both sedentary individuals and those on weight loss journeys often face the issue of irregular bowel movements or constipation. The accumulation of waste in the body can lead to reabsorption, which is detrimental to health and can cause skin issues like acne and roughness. Constipation can also hinder weight loss progress by slowing down the rate of weight loss.
How can you ensure regular bowel movements and clear out waste, keeping your intestines unobstructed and feeling light and refreshed? Today, I’m sharing a simple and effective method: consuming foods that aid in bowel movements right after waking up. Here are some options:

1. Half a Red Pitaya
Red pitaya is rich in dietary fiber and vitamins. Its delicious and palatable flesh can effectively stimulate intestinal motility and increase stool volume. It also contains special enzymatic substances and plant-based albumin that promote digestion and absorption in the intestines, helping to clear out waste. Many parents use pitaya to treat constipation in their children with noticeable results.
2. A few Prunes
Both fresh and processed prunes contain natural pectin fiber and sorbitol. Sorbitol is not easily absorbed by the body, and once it enters the intestines, it absorbs water, increasing stool volume and moisture, making it softer and easier to eliminate waste.
3. Moderate Amount of Celery
Celery is rich in dietary fiber, which can increase stool volume. The high water content in celery helps keep stools moist and prevents dryness and hardening, acting as a lubricant for intestinal ‘cargo’ to facilitate smooth elimination.
Celery can be juiced directly or stir-fried with chicken breast, also effectively reducing blood lipid levels and improving blood pressure, making it suitable for most people.
4. Moderate Amount of Spinach
Many people are unaware that spinach is a natural vegetable that promotes bowel movements. It contains a large amount of crude fiber and vitamins, not only helping with bowel movements but also aiding in the treatment of hemorrhoids.
After waking up, eat a handful of spinach (blanched in boiling water to remove oxalic acid) before consuming other foods, and you will soon feel the urge to use the restroom.
